Canadian Foundation 15251737 wishes to address the global clean water crisis.

Nearly 1 in 3 people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water. This lack of clean water and sanitation leads to diseases and creates a cycle of poverty in many communities.

We aim to end this cycle by bringing sustainable clean water solutions to communities in need. Our programs provide access to clean groundwater, install irrigation and water delivery systems, teach water conservation practices, and promote proper hygiene.

Our Vision, Your Impact

Our Foundation aims to:

1. Install over 500 wells, hand pumps, and irrigation systems in drought-stricken rural villages

2. Implement over 100 PlayPump systems on school playgrounds in sub-Saharan Africa

3. Educate more than 5,000 community members on water conservation, treatment, and sanitation through our workshops

4. Partner with local governments, NGOs, and community leaders to identify clean water needs and maintain installed systems

5. Mobilize over 10,000 volunteers to fundraise and build clean water projects around the world

Thomas Matzen

Executive Director

Engineer Thomas Matzen combined innovation and altruism to founded the Canadian Foundation DBA Tyler's Play Pumps. Seeking a sustainable solution to Africa's clean water crisis, his entrepreneurial thinking, and his then six year old son, led him to support merry-go-round pumps that extract groundwater as children play and irrigation water systems for entire villages.

The foundation aims to deliver water access to over 2,500 African communities. As Executive Director, Matzen wishes to inspire others via online education to bring clean water to over 10 million people across 10 countries. His engineering acumen and commitment to serving others make him an ideal leader to advance the foundation's mission of using technology to improve quality of life worldwide.
